PRIMA AVENUE OPEN VOLLEYBALL CHALLENGE 2010

As the year draws closer to its end, Prima Avenue is proud to announce that it will be organizing the much awaited PRIMA AVENUE@Cyberjaya OPEN VOLLEYBALL CHALLENGE 2010 starting at the end of this month. The participation is open to everyone, be it those who are based in Cyberjaya or even beyond.

ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS

National players (Sea Games, AUG, Youth or any international tournament, Beach) from year 2000 – 2010 are not eligible to enter this tournament. Only 2 State players (Sukma, Malaysia Open, MAKSAK, Beach) from year 2005 – 2010 are allowed to be in the court but teams may register more than 2 State players. Each team may also register up to 3 ladies in the team.

REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS

Each team may register up to 12 players including 1 libero. Players are allowed to be registered in one team only. Nevertheless, winners' medals are only allotted for 10 players.

REGISTRATION FEES

RM 50.00 deposit per team which will be refunded if team attends all the scheduled games (except those teams that qualify for the semifinal rounds)

ATTIRE

All entering teams must have proper attire, jersey with numbering front and back. Teams without proper attire will be disqualified.

GAME FORMAT

The game format will be as follows: best of 3 sets where by the deciding set will be played as 15 points. The 1st and 2nd set will be played by 25 points where by maximum points will be decided until 27. And the 3rd set maximum deciding points will be 17 points. Only the Final game will be played by ‘best of 5 sets’. The first round will be played by league while the 2nd round onwards will be played by knockout system.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

The tournament will start on the 27th of September 2010 and should end by the 10th of November 2010. It will be held at Prima Avenue Volleyball Court, Cyberjaya (download location map) on Mondays and Wednesdays. Each 1st match of the day will start at 06.30pm and should continue until 0930pm every Monday and Wednesday.

PRIZES

CHAMPION - RM 500 CASH + RM 500 VOUCHER + CHALLENGE AND TAKE HOME TROPHY + MEDALS

RUNNER up (2ND PLACING) - RM 250 CASH + RM 250 VOUCHER + TROPHY + MEDAL

3RD PLACING - RM 100 CASH + RM 100 VOUCHER

4TH PLACING - RM 100 VOUCHER

The tournament is limited to 32 teams, and hence, please provide your names via the registration form attached on or before 6:00pm Wednesday 23rd September, 2010 to avoid disappointments. Just like previous tournaments, the crowned champions can be assured of handsome prizes to be brought home and the bragging rights that goes with it. Indeed, this surely is a great way to rev up your "engines" after more than a month of being "idle"!
